END-OF-YEAR 2008 AWARDS

CPG Awards
  • "Take Back The Hut" won 1st place for second semester and 2nd place in year-end sweepstakes in the Public Relations area.
  • "Turkey Day Trim Down" won 1st place for second semester and 2nd place in year-end sweepstakes in the Individual Development area.
  • "No More Empty Bellies" won 2nd place for second semester in the Community Development area.
  • "Pumpkin Festival" won 1st place for the second semester in the Community Fundraising area and the Community Area Of Opportunity Award for the year.
Individual Awards:
  • Hampton Rutledge won the Charles Hawkins Memorial Award for being one the top five chapter presidents in the state.
  • Kelly Quinones Miller won the Bill McDonald Leadership Award/C. William Brownfield Award for being the most outstanding first-year Jaycee in the state.
  • Kelly also won Write Up for the year.
  • Dana Kaufman won the John Stackhouse Award for being the project chair for one of the top local NC Jaycee Burn Center projects.
  • Bill Shuey was named Jaycee of the Second Semester for the state.

Group Awards

  • Kelly Quinones Miller, Dana Kaufman, and Matt Kaufman won Debate against the Hickory Jaycees.

The chapter was recognized as Top 4 in the Parade of Excellence for both second semester and the entire year!

MID-YEAR 2008 AWARDS

CPG Awards
  • "From Trash To Treasure" won 1st place for a single project and 2nd place in sweepstakes for ways and means.
  • "Sing A Song For CF" won 1st place for community fundraising and 2nd place in sweepstakes for community fundraising.
  • "Voter Registration Drive" won 1st place for community development.

Individual Awards

  • Management VP Shannon Shuey won best overall in SpeakUp
  • Shannon also won Top 5 Armbruster
  • Community VP Amber Dunigan won First Timers
  • Individual Development VP Kelly Quinones Miller won Top 5 Brownfield
  • The Miller family won Top 5 Family of the Year

Group Awards

  • Amber, Kelly and Chair Dana Kaufman won Debate against the Asheboro Jaycees.

The chapter was recognized as Top 4 in the Parade of Excellence!

END-OF-SECOND TRIMESTER 2007 AWARDS

CPG Awards
  • The Care Fair won 1st place for State, National, International Involvement CPGs
  • The Care Fair won 2nd place in Sweepstakes for Overall State, National, International Involvement and Overall Community Project.
  • The Book Bag Raffle won 2nd place for Management CPGs
Individual Awards
  • State Director Hampton Rutledge won Top 5 Armbruster
  • Hampton's Write Up also won at the local and state level
  • Sarah Lyons won JC of the Trimester for her work with the newsletter
  • Secretary Rebecca Johnson was awarded Top 5 Brownfield
  • Matt Kaufman won Membership VP of the Trimester
  • The Shueys won Top 5 Family of the Year
  • President Dana Kaufman was nominated to the Memorial Foundation Committee for 2008
The hard work and dedication of the entire chapter was recognized in the Parade of Excellence where we climbed from #8 to Top 5!
